- We will work with you to build the engine you want! Basically this is
- how it will start. What we need from you is just the block, rods, and
- pistons as a core. We need a machinable 6 Bolt Turbo Block, and your old 6 Bolt Rods
- for reconditioning. If you do not have these, we have them on site for
- an additional charge. Also, if you want a specific brand of bearings,
- let
- us know we can get them. Usually Clevite 77, or ACL ones.
- Another request we get is to install the balance shaft bearings, for
- the balance shaft eliminator kit. We can do this at no extra cost, since those bearings need to be replaced anyways. Like
- we stated earlier, we are here to help you get your engine done on a
- budget, and how you want it. The best way to go about this short block
- is to contact us about what you want to do, and we will be happy to
- give you a quote, with your exact parts requested!!
On this Custom Build, we use New OEM 2g Pistons that are either .020 or .040 over. - We have found that this is the most common bore, bringing the cost of
- New Pistons down, so we can give the best price. All of our motors get
- bored and honed, for a perfict cylinder wall before the build. Our Sealed Power Chrome Piston Rings are then sized to the bore, for a perfict and tight seal.
The machining of the block includes Decking, Boring, Hot Tanking, and Freeze Plugs. - Also, we do hone the cylinders after boring. Then we install the
- freeze plugs before the main build. If you want us to paint your
- block, we can do that free of charge, otherwise it will come blank as
- cast iron.
The 6 Bolt Big Rods is where most of our attention lays, because it is the key to the Frankenstein engine. The rods start out by careful inspection, measuring, and bead blasting. - From there we bore the wrist pin size to fit the larger diameter and
- stronger writs pin. After that, we get the crankshaft side Aline Honed , for the New ARP Rod Bolts. What we do here, is shave the rod caps, install the New APR Bolts,
- and then re size the hole. This makes a perfict round hole, that is
- not distorted, resulting in a long lasting and powerful engine.
We have 2 options for Crankshafts: the Crankshaft Rebuilders Inc. Crank or the New OEM Mitsubishi Crank. - OEM Mitus Crankshafts are a $600 option on this custom build.
- Crankshaft Rebuilders Inc. cranks are the one's we use on this build
- and have proved to be a great crankshaft. These crankshafts have been
- completely checked over, straightened, balanced, and polished. We have
- yet to see a broken CRI Crankshaft, since the crank seems to be the
- strongest component in the 4G63 engines. Finally, we install New OEM Main Bolts to insure the strength of the build.
If - you have any other questions about this build, please contact us, and
- we can fill you in on the details. This engine is rated at 450+ HP.
Core Charge To - What we have found to be the best way to do the core swap, is to have
- the customer send the core on his own. Fed Ex is our preferred method
- of shippment back to us, but we will accept any shipping method. We
- can do the core swap a few different ways, which can save both of
- parties time.
- Our preferred method, is to not have
- the customer charged with any core, and have the customer send the core
- first, for us to build. This method takes a bit more time, but we then
- know that the core is good, the customer does not have to come up with
- any extra $$ for the core charge, and you can still have your #'s
- matching DSM. This is the least expensive way to do this, but usually
- takes the longest, since we cannot start until we get your core
- The
- next way is to have the customer pay the core charge, and we can start
- on your engine right away with one of our cores at the shop (please
- call and verify we have cores available). When we get your core, we
- will send the customer the core charge same way it was paid. Sometimes
- customers pay the core charge for us to start, and instantly send there
- core, so save almost a week in time. Once we get there core, we send
- the payment right back.
- The last way to do the core
- charge it to just pay it. Shipping can be $150, and paying a core
- charge can be the easy method to go about it. If your block is
- damaged, we will not accept it as a core anyways. Please contact us to
- see if we have cores available if this is your preferred method.
