| This is the Rod Exchange for the 6 Bolt Frankenstein Connecting Rods. What this listing is for, is to get your writs pin holes bored to the 22mm size for any 2G, Evo, or Performance Style Piston. These will also be bead blasted, and cleaned. When you get these back, you will need to take them to your machine shop to have the rods reconditioned, pistons put on, and new bolts installed. This is a great way to get your 6 Bolt engine rebuild to hold the extra power, and up your compression! We can send these ASAP if you pay the core charge, or we will send the core charge back when we see your old rods! |

Features
- Rod Work Includes:
Rod Boring to 22mm for 2G Pistons Ground to fit 2G Pistons Bead Blasted Finish Cleaned and Oiled. Shipped Next Day!
Other rod work you want to get done:
Reconditioning your rods - Take these rods to your machine shop, so they can install new rod bolts, and hone both the wrist pin side, and crankshaft side. We machine the wrist pin hole a little smaller than the stock size, so there is room to hone the rods. The rod boring machine does not product the super smooth finish needed for a heat press fit, so you want us, or your machine shop to recon the rods. On the crankshaft hole side, new rod bolts always need to be installed. When this is done, it it will slightly misaline the cap on the connecting rod. When the rods are reconditioned, the will shave a few thousandths off both the rod and cap, to make them kinda football shaped. They then install the rod bolts, and run the hole on a hone. This makes the hole perfectly round to your new bolts, and corrects any previous out of round condition.
We highly recommend recondition connecting rods whenever they are reused. How we see it, this is engine building 101. If you are serous about building a strong and successful engine, this is a must.
We can get your rods reconditioned and pistons hung at our machine shop. They have done many 4G63 engine builds for us, and for other customers. We are planning on getting a rod reconditioning machine in the near future, and do have a heat press. Feel free to call us about getting your rods reconditioned, or pistons hung. Thanks!
